First-time Homebuyer Education & Certification Workshop

ASIAN, Inc. provides workshops designed to guide you in understanding the concepts and procedures of buying your first home.

Workshop Details

Sections

The workshop is held in two sections, with an hour break in between.
You must attend both sections.

Section I: 10 am - 1 pm
Section II: 2 pm - 5 pm

Language

The workshop is conducted in Cantonese.

How to Join

If you are eligible for the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (SFMOHCD) homebuyer programs and have decided that you would like to move forward with the remaining homebuyer education, please contact us, after you have completed the SFMOHCD 2-hour orientation, and provide us with your legal name as shown on your ID/Driver's license, telephone number, email address, and the SFMOHCD orientation completion date.

For homebuyers of other cities without the orientation requirement:

  1. You can contact our staff at (415) 928-5910 x 6 or housing.counseling@asianinc.org to register for our homebuyer education online workshop.
  2. We will email you an Eventbrite link. You can pay online on the Eventbrite page when you complete your registration for the workshop.
  3. You will receive an email confirmation and the link to Zoom from Eventbrite.
  4. When you join the online workshop on Zoom, you will be required to enter your legal name as shown on your ID/Driver's license, and your own email address.

Workshop Requirements - IMPORTANT

  1. To ensure that every participant is attending personally in this workshop, the entire workshop will be recorded.
    Each registered person must be logged into your own device with a camera set up, i.e. mobile device, tablet, or computer, that is capable for Zoom meetings.
    We do not offer refunds due to any technical difficulties.
  2. Attendees must use their own email address to register for the online workshop. (DO NOT SHARE EMAIL ADDRESS WITH OTHER ATTENDEES).
  3. Before registering for the workshop on Eventbrite, please use this Zoom test site (https://zoom.us/test) to ensure that your device is capable of joining the online workshop on Zoom.
  4. All attendees must join our online workshop on time. If you join after the first 15 minutes of the online workshop, you will be considered as absent. You will need to re-pay to attend the next available workshop. NO EXCEPTION!
  5. We will have pop quizzes during the workshop, so stay tuned.
  6. To complete the workshop, all attendees need to fill and sign all the emailed workshop forms either digitally (using for example, the Adobe Fill & Sign app) or manually, and send them back to housing.counseling@asianinc.org.
  7. Please make sure that your device stays charged and your internet connection is stable during the entire online workshop of 6 hours.

分段

講座分為兩個部分,中間有一個小時的休息時間。
您必須兩個部分都參加。

如何報名

如果你想參加三藩市市政府房屋補助計劃并且決定要完成首次購屋者教育,請你在完成了兩小時的三藩市市政府房屋介紹會後,聯係我們的工作人員,提供你身份證上的姓名,電話號碼,以及你完成三藩市市政府房屋介紹會的日期。

如果你打算參加其他城市的市政府計劃則不需要完成三藩市市政府計劃介紹會:

  1. 你可以通過以下方式聯係我們的工作人員報名我們的首次購屋者教育及證書班(網上教育講座)
  2. 我們的工作人員會通過電子郵件發送一個 Eventbrite 的鏈接,你可以通過鏈接繳費注冊報名。
  3. 報名成功後,在線課程詳細信息及Zoom的鏈接將通過 Eventbrite 的電子郵件發送給你。
  4. 講座當天, 當你進入網上教育講座時,請填寫你身份證上的姓名以及你的個人電子郵箱

講座要求 - 重要提示

  1. 網上教育講座進行期間,我們將會全程錄影,以確認每位參加者都有親自參加整個講座。每一位講座參加者都必須要單獨使用一臺配有攝像頭的設備(例如:手機,平板電腦,配有支持Zoom的攝像頭的電腦)並打開攝像頭
    我們不會為任何技術難題提供退款。
  2. 每一位參加者都必須使用個人電子郵箱注冊。(不可多人共用電子郵箱。)
  3. 報名講座前,請使用此 Zoom Test 網站(https://zoom.us/test)測試設備設置。
  4. 參加者必須按時參加講座,請提前調整好你的電子設備。如果你在開始時間15分鐘後進入講座,將會被視為沒有完成講座,並且需要重新交錢再次參加講座以完成培訓。沒有例外。
  5. 講座期間我們將會隨機抽取參加者進行隨機小測試。

Individual Counseling

How to Schedule For Your Individual Counseling Appointment

  1. Contact our staff at (415) 928-5910 x 6 or housing.counseling@asianinc.org to schedule an appointment.
  2. After your schedule has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email which includes forms and a secured link.
  3. Scan the required documents (see Document List section below) in the specified order into one PDF document, for example, by using the Adobe Scan free app on you mobile phone.
  4. Submit the combined scanned document to the secured link by 5 pm of the date before your appointment.
  5. Your counselor will call you at the appointment date/time.

Document List For Individual Counseling

  1. Signed and dated Federal Income Tax Return forms (IRS Form 1040 or 1040EZ or 1040A ONLY) for the past three years.
    • Include all schedules and attachments
    • Include all W-2 and 1099 form(s)
    • California tax return forms are not required.
  2. Copies of 3 most recent consecutive pay stubs and/or income statements.
  3. Copies of 3 most recent consecutive bank or asset statements from all banks or other cash asset accounts

  2. After your schedule has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email which includes forms and a secured link.
